Practice Player / Alternate Positions Open
The Girls High School Preparation Team registration is open to experienced players in birth years 2000 through 2004. The focus of the team is high school preparation. The season will start in mid-September and the team will compete in the Connecticut Girls Hockey League (CGHL). This split season team will practice one weeknight per week at ISCC and will have one Sunday afternoon game each week through Thanksgiving. They will also participate in the CGHL state tournament in March at the conclusion of the high school hockey season. This is an ideal program for any athlete who participates in a Fall sport, but also wants to play hockey to prepare for the winter season!
We are happy to announce Kris Arnold as Head Coach of the 2018 SYHA Girls High School Preparation Team. Kris brings many years of talent and coaching experience to the team and will be a true asset to our players as they prepare for their high school season. Most recently, Kris acted as Assistant Coach to the Simsbury High School Boys Varsity Hockey team after many years as Head Coach of the SHS Girls Varsity Hockey team. Kris led the Girls Varsity team to a State Championship in 2014 in addition to numerous Conference titles throughout his tenure. Kris continues to serve as an Assistant Coach on the SHS Girls Varsity team. His coaching experience also spans Simsbury Youth HOckey Association's Mite through Midget divisions. Kris is a tremendous addition to our coaching staff and he's looking forward to his return to SYHA ice!
