Simsbury Youth Hockey is pleased to announce our plans for a Girls U10/U12 Travel Team in 2017-18

Our Spring tryouts were a great success, with over 40 players joining us on April 4th and 18th.  We were thrilled to name our 2017-18 U14 A team which will be lead by Head Coach, Brian Walsh.  Congratulations to our U14 A team players!

Additionally, we are pleased to announce our ability to field a U12/U10 combined age group travel team in the coming season.  Recent tryout results have invited several players to this team, with an excellent coaching staff already on board to lead us through a fun season.   With the goal of growing our program even further, we have opened two registrations to identify additional players.  A Girls U12 and Girls U10 registration will remain open through September 1st.  All registrants will be considered for this combined age group team.

This team is open to players with birth years 2005/2006 (U12) and 2007/2008 (U10) and will play in the Connecticut Girls Hockey League (CGHL) to further develop the Girls Youth Hockey Program for Simsbury Youth Hockey.  This skill appropriate combined team will focus on team and skills development while having fun in a competitive, recreational hockey setting.

In addition to playing CGHL girls teams across the state,  the team will also fill their game schedule with local co-ed house teams (including SYHA Squirt/PeeWee House) and, if appropriate, Squirt travel teams within the Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC).  The team will practice twice a week and will participate in a minimum of 15-20 games.  They will also play in a minimum of one tournament in the coming season.

Interested players should register in the appropriate age group (Girls U12 or Girls U10).  Our coaching staff and final team roster will be announced in the fall.
